SeniorNet Nelson has eight Special Interest Groups, held monthly. All members are welcome. There is no need to register, just turn up. $5 koha please. A link button to each group can be found at the bottom of every screen giving news of upcoming meetings and reports of previous meetings.

Do you  know something about, or want to find out from a fellow member their experience on  a set of topics or a particular topic ? Then come along to one of our Special Interest Groups ( SIGs) .

Coffee and Learn Special interest group

This is truly a “Learning Together” Group – people with all levels of knowledge will hopefully learn something and also be able to contribute.

Who should come? 

  • People with any kind of device or system, but there is no need to bring your device
  • People with all manner of skills, many or few
  • People who just want to listen, or would like to contribute their knowledge

What topic will be demonstrated and discussed?

  • Each month the focus will be on a different topic
  • We will briefly cover the basics and then go on to find out more

The Puhoi to Warkworth Motorway project is well under way and is now only two years before completion. At our members meeting on 30th September a representative from the NX2 group who are responsible for the building of the road will give a presentation on the progress so far. 

To find out the latest information regarding the construction of this new road don’t miss this important meeting which is free to all members. Feel free to bring along a guest.

Special Interest Groups will meet once a month. All members are welcome. There is no need to register. $5 koha please.

The first group for members with a special interest in Media (Video, images, music, streaming and much much more), met on Tuesday 10 September 2019, 1-30 to 3-30 PM.

INFORMATION DESK: Is available every Friday afternoon from 12.00 – 1.30pm for you to come in and book the course that you have been promising yourself you will do in 2019.

Fridays 1200 noon to 1-30pm  

Information: an experienced volunteer can talk you through the set of courses, book you on a course and help you join.

Help: tutors will be available to help you with your phone, tablet, laptop or your desktop.  Please sign the register at the front desk and you will be dealt with sequentially and dependent upon the skills available that day.  For help there is a $2-00 contribution per person, against our costs.

Smart TVs, Streaming Video, Podcasts, Video Editing,  e Books, Ripping CDs, YouTube, Streaming and playing music are just some of the subjects we will cover in this group.

STREAMING, DOWNLOADING, ORGANISING, , LISTENING, HARDWARE . .

Bring your suggestions, your questions and your tips. You can just sit and listen or share experiences.
A great way to learn from each other in a social setting.
